No More Itchy, Smelly Weaves

Tired of itchy, smelly weaves? Use an antiseptic wash during your shampoo to cleanse the base of your weave and remove any sweat and build up that may cause odors and itching. All of my weave clients get an antiseptic wash during their weave maintenance appointments.

My favorite products for this are Luxe Therapy's Pre-Cleanse Solution and Revitalizing Shampoo. Here is how to use it:

Mix 1 ounce of the Pre-Cleanse Solution with a little bit of Revitalizing Shampoo and about 2 ounces of warm water in an applicator bottle. Squeeze the mixture under your weave in between the tracks then use the Luxe Therapy Scalp Soother to massage the mixture under the base. Rinse the your hair thoroughly, making sure to let the water run under the base as much a possible.

Is Your's Pillowcase Breaking Your Hair?

It always surprises me when new clients tell me they've never heard about sleeping on a satin pillowcase. A lot of times when I see women with breakage to one side of their hair I hear "Oh my hair has always done that because I sleep on that side." If everyone's hair broke from sleeping on the same side many of us would be half bald. The cause of one-sided breakage usually come from sleeping on cotton pillowcases. The fibers in cotton pillowcases can snag hair and cotton absorbs oils and moisture that are needed to maintain healthy, shiny hair.

Sleeping on a satin pillowcase allows hair to slip or slide across it's smooth surface without removing necessary moisture. Even if you wear a satin scarf to bed, there's nothing wrong with adding some extra luxury while you sleep.

Eat Your Way to Healthy Hair

You have to put good in, to get good out! Eating a healthy, balanced diet will promote healthy hair. What you eat is just as important as the hair care products you use. Also, making sure to drink plenty of water will help to keep your hair moisturized from the inside out.
